Effects of a backward running training on backward peak velocity running, V̇O2max, vVO2max and 3 km forward running performance in male adults: a pilot study

نویسندگان

چکیده

Aims: The study aimed to evaluate the effects of a backward running (BR) training program prescribed by peak velocity (Vpeak_BR) on physiological variables and 3 km forward (FR) performance. Methods: Eight untrained male adults in took place study. All participants underwent five weeks BR based Vpeak_BR. They performed maximal incremental test treadmill determine oxygen uptake (V̇O2max) associated with V̇O2max (vV̇O2max). were also tested track field Vpeak_BR undertook FR initial assessments after period. Results: results showed statistically significant improvements performance (14.2 ± 1.2 min vs. 13.5 1.0 min) (8.0 0.8 km·h−1 8.5 0.5 km·h−1) Conclusion: effectively improved Vpeak_BR, demonstrating that determined according protocol proposed this can be used for prescription training. Further, represents an effective method inserted into program.

Effects of running velocity on running kinetics and kinematics.

Sixteen semiprofessional Australian football players performed running bouts at incremental velocities of 40, 60, 80, and 100% of their maximum velocity on a Woodway nonmotorized force treadmill. As running velocity increased from 40 to 60%, peak vertical and peak horizontal forces increased by 14.3% (effect size [ES] = 1.0) and 34.4% (ES = 4.2), respectively. The changes in peak vertical and p...

Purpose: The aim of this study was to test the effect of 50 gr changes in sport shoes' weight on Vo2max and running economy during 15 minutes running protocol. Method: 15 active males (age of 24.60 ± 2.06; height of 178 ± 5.83 cm) were selected in this study. Subjects ittrcicitrap in a 15 minutes running protocol in three running speeds of 4, 6 and 8 km/h. Total time for each running speed was ...

A pilot study on the effects of pre-event manipulation on jump height and running velocity.

PURPOSE To compare changes in jump height and running velocity with and without pre-event high-velocity, low-amplitude manipulation (HVLA). METHODS A crossover study design with elite healthy athletes was used. After a 15 min warm-up, the subjects were tested for countermovement jump height (CMJ) and flying 40 m sprint time (SPRINT). A sport chiropractor then evaluated each subject. Subjects ...

Backward and forward path following control of a wheeled robot

A wheeled mobile robot is one of the most important types of mobile robots. A subcategory of these robots is wheeled robots towing trailer(s). Motion control problem, especially in backward motion is one of the challenging research topics in this field. In this article, a control algorithm for path-following problem of a tractor-trailer system is provided, which at the same time provides the ab...

The application of ground force explains the energetic cost of running backward and forward.

We compared backward with forward running to test the idea that the application of ground force to support the weight of the body determines the energetic cost of running. We hypothesized that higher metabolic rates during backward versus forward running would be directly related to greater rates of ground force application and the volume of muscle activated to apply support forces to the groun...
